Dublin Hip-Hop and spoken word artist Flynn Johnson features in the latest campaign from O’Neills Sportswear, marking the launch of the Dublin GAA Alternative Jersey 2025.

The campaign video centres on Flynn’s original piece, “We Are the Flame”, written and performed as a tribute to Dublin’s history, landmarks and connection with GAA culture. The piece references places and symbols including the Three Burning Castles, Ha’penny Bridge and the Five Lamps, connecting the jersey’s Celtic design with the city’s wider story.

Shot at Parnell Park, the campaign also features Dublin GAA players Emma O’Byrne, Sean McMahon, Leah Caffrey and Paddy Smyth.

For Flynn, the project brought together two parts of his creative practice: spoken word and place-rooted storytelling. His writing often draws from Dublin life, everyday language and social detail, making this campaign a natural space for him to reflect on the city in a direct and personal way.

This is a bucket list moment for me and an opportunity that only comes around once in a lifetime,” Flynn Johnson shares. “It was a challenge to write about something I love so much in such a short piece, but I used Dublin’s landmarks and our vernacular as my inspiration. I’m beyond grateful for this experience.

“We Are the Flame” was written and performed by Flynn Johnson, with music and production by ROC.

The campaign video is now live on O’Neills’ social platforms, with the Dublin GAA Alternative Jersey 2025 available through O’Neills.
