Flynn Johnson has released THE GREEN BOX THEORY: FRIDAY EDITION, completing the story begun on his 2025 debut album one year after its original release. The expanded 19-track record is accompanied by the unveiling of Ireland’s first KiTalbum, developed through a new partnership between Golden Éire Records and and Korean music-tech company KiTbetter.
Released digitally on 6 November, FRIDAY EDITION adds seven recordings to Flynn’s account of growing up in Whitestown, Dublin 15, during the mid-to-late 2000s. The original album followed the friendships, experiences and everyday life surrounding the green electricity box on his childhood estate, returning to the same meeting point throughout its stories.
The expanded edition picks up a conversation from the album’s opening moments, when a younger Flynn and his best friend Darrell discuss an upcoming Friday-night gathering. That gathering, left unexplored on the original record, provides the setting for the final chapter.

Recent singles “MURDER PT II”, featuring Rebel Phoenix, Mango and whoisdays, and the hikii-produced “DANCIN’ IN THE DARK” introduced listeners to the new material. The expanded tracklist brings in Nealo on “MADE IN PRESSURE”, Wallfella and RACH on “HOPE & STONE”, and Nucentz on “BUNKIN’ PT II”, before the six-minute closing track “TTYL” brings the record to its conclusion.
“When the original album was done, I knew the story wasn’t. This was always the plan, to touch on subject matters that have their place only on FRIDAY EDITION. This is how the story should end. At the green box, celebrating with my crew.”
— Flynn Johnson
The album’s visual world has also been carried into a new physical edition. Golden Éire Records has worked with KiTbetter to develop a physical-digital edition of FRIDAY EDITION, bringing Flynn’s music, photography and digital media together in a collectable KiTalbum.

Housed in a custom jewel-box case, the edition includes a KiT device, twelve double-sided photographic art cards featuring Flynn’s handwritten lyrics, and four collectable stickers. Through the companion KiTplayer application, listeners can access the full nineteen-track album, lyrics and supporting digital content.
“We wanted to find a physical format that could do justice to the world Flynn has built around THE GREEN BOX THEORY. The photographs, handwritten lyrics and stories are as much a part of the project as the music itself, so the KiTalbum felt like a natural fit.”
— Odhran O’Brien, Director of Golden Éire Records
The KiTalbum format has sold more than ten million copies worldwide, with releases from over 2,000 artists, including Public Enemy, Duran Duran, Snoop Dogg and Weezer. Flynn’s FRIDAY EDITION marks its introduction to Ireland.
The collaboration also extends beyond the Irish release. Golden Éire and KiTbetter are finalising arrangements to distribute FRIDAY EDITION in South Korea, Japan, Canada and the United States through the company’s established international networks.
The physical KiTalbum is available to pre-order ahead of its release on Saturday, 21 November, when Flynn will also bring FRIDAY EDITION to The Playground HQ in Dublin for an intimate headline launch with support from Just Mikey and Wallfella. The show marks a return to the venue where the original album was recorded and first shared with an audience in November 2025.
THE GREEN BOX THEORY: FRIDAY EDITION is available now via Golden Éire Records.
