Championing the Voices of Dublin’s Working Class

Wallfella is a Northside Dublin rapper and R&B artist unafraid to speak the hard truths. Drawing from his upbringing in O’Devaney Gardens, he has become a distinctive voice in Irish Hip-Hop, blending raw storytelling with evolving musical innovation. His music channels the complexities of working-class life into tracks that move through nights out, relationships, self-doubt and creative pressure with candour, humour and emotional weight.

First breaking through with his 2020 debut album The North’s Face, Wallfella has continued to widen his sound beyond straight rap, bringing elements of R&B, electronic, and funk into sharper focus across more recent projects. That evolution came into full view on his 2025 EP, The Coop is Full, a project exploring overload, vices, conflict and the slow process of closing the door on chaos. Singles such as “No Chords”, “Smooth Wirreh” and “Blonde in the Black Dress” have highlighted both his growing musical range and his gift for layered, sharply observed songwriting.

Collaboration has remained central to his development, with standout work alongside Flynn Johnson, Hikii, Odd Numbers and Nealo helping shape a sound that is unmistakably Dublin while reaching beyond it. His live profile has continued to grow through festival appearances, support slots and a headline show in Whelan’s in January 2026, which marked a clear step forward in his current phase as a performer. With a new run of releases beginning in 2026, Wallfella continues to build on that momentum with music that is reflective, direct and rooted in lived experience.

The Coop is Full

On The Coop is Full, “the coop” represents the space Wallfella gives to people, habits and outside pressure. Across the EP, that space fills with nights out, casual links, drinking, arguments, creative doubt and the expectations that come with building a career in a small Irish Hip-Hop scene.

The EP continues Wallfella’s focus on mental health, masculinity, relationships and working-class life. His writing remains rooted in Northside Dublin language and detail, while the project’s themes reach into more widely felt questions around coping, self-worth, overstimulation and the work it takes to step back from old patterns.
