Emerging as one of Ireland’s most influential producers, Odd Numbers blends genre-defying production with a vision that extends beyond borders. Drawing from Hip-Hop’s golden eras while embracing elements of R&B, Soul, and Jazz, the Cavan native creates soundscapes that reflect both his roots and Ireland’s evolving musical identity. Through his thoughtful approach to production and unwavering commitment to collaboration, he has established himself as a leading figure in alternative music.
Since his debut in 2020, Odd Numbers has focused on creating music that tells meaningful stories while fostering a community of like-minded artists. His debut album, The Golden Éire Tapes Vol. 1, featured a rotating cast of Irish artists and received critical acclaim. The Irish Times praised the producer’s "impressive skill set behind the boards,” and Yack! Magazine celebrated it as “the sparkling green jewel in the crown of the indie and alternative hip-hop scene.”
The Colours EP builds on this foundation, representing a significant milestone in his career. Supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, the EP features collaborations with some of Ireland’s most promising voices, including Graham, Flynn Johnson, Wallfella, Fynch, and DeCarteret. Each track explores themes of love, resilience, identity, and nostalgia, showcasing Odd Numbers’ ability to blend genres and amplify diverse narratives. Tracks like “Rom-Com,” which "explores the complexities of love and life’s twists" (Stereofox), while “Uncut Gems,” featuring Fynch, evokes the innocence of childhood through its Jazz-Hop-infused production. With Colours, Odd Numbers refined his genre-blending approach, combining soulful loops, off-kilter rhythms, and cutting-edge techniques inspired by the likes of J Dilla and Kenny Beats.
Beyond his own music, Odd Numbers is committed to uplifting the Irish music community. In 2022, he founded Golden Éire Records, an independent label dedicated to providing artists with the resources and support needed to thrive. The label’s mission—“Pioneering Irish Hip-Hop through innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to cultural integrity”—reflects Odd Numbers’ vision for a more cohesive and globally recognised music scene. Dope Hip-Hop commended his efforts, noting, “What Odd Numbers is doing within Ireland’s Hip-Hop scene and the country as a whole is something that can only be championed.”
Looking to the future, Odd Numbers is focused on fostering collaboration and innovation within Irish Hip-Hop. He envisions a music scene that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries, allowing Irish artists to connect with audiences around the world. “More cohesion within the Irish Hip-Hop scene is important,” he shared with The Dublin Gazette. “I’ll be working strenuously on this network going forward.” His dedication to building a unified community has already begun to reshape the Irish music landscape.
Through his music and leadership, Odd Numbers exemplifies the transformative power of creativity. Grounded in his community and guided by a clear vision for the future, he continues to challenge conventions and inspire a new generation of artists to find their voices. As he continues to evolve, Odd Numbers remains a humble and dedicated force, driven by his love for the culture and a desire to make a lasting impact.
